FRED 2.0 is here!
Click on Services in the menu above and then look for the bookmobile photo for more information.  Or you can use the link below to access the bookmobile calendar directly.
The new bookmobile is equipped to offer the same services as a regular library branch, including book lending, digital resources, and various programs for all ages.
The Bookmobile schedule can also be found in the Events Calendar.

Windsor Public Library
is open 7 days a week in 9
locations in 2026. Hours of operation are also standardized as noon to 8 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays, and 10 am to 6 pm on all other days.

Tumblebook Library (K-6) is a curated database of children’s e-books, from children’s book publishers such as Simon & Schuster, Chronicle Books, Candlewick Press, Charlesbridge Press, Walker & Company, Annick Press, Orca Books, Lerner Books, and HarperCollins Publishers, amongst others. The collections provide enrichment to students who are reading independently with a variety of high interest material. Great News About WPL Electronic Resources

Kanopy is providing unlimited free access to Kanopy Kids!  WPL offers free access to streaming video through Kanopy. John Muir Branch Recognized For Excellence In Conservation

The new John Muir Branch of the Windsor Public Library has been awarded the Lieutenant Governor’s Ontario Heritage Award for Excellence in Conservation. Windsor Public Library Board Chair, Councillor Rino Bortolin, WPL CEO Kitty Pope and Architect Jason Grossi were in Toronto yesterday evening to accept the award on behalf of the team behind the planning, development and construction of the library branch, located at 363 Mill Street in Sandwich Town. Community Archives Now Open

The Community Archives recently moved to 85 Pitt Street East in downtown Windsor and is now open to the public from 10 am-1 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays and at other times by appointment. There will be an open house on Monday, April 6 from 2-4 pm to provide the public with a behind-the-scenes look at the materials and resources the Community Archives makes available to visitors. Central Branch Open in Paul Martin Building Monday

On Monday, February 3, the Central Branch of Windsor Public Library will open in the Paul Martin Building (PMB) at 185 Ouellette Avenue.  Concurrently, the 850 Ouellette library location will close to allow staff to de-commission the building, pending the completion of the sale to the Downtown Mission at the end of the month. Renovated and Expanded Budimir Branch to Open

The newly renovated and expanded Budimir Branch (1310 Grand Marais Road West) will officially open Friday, February 14. The 6,000 square foot expansion includes more customer space, additional resources and materials and a technology hub. The Budimir community is invited to attend the 1 pm event, meet staff, tour the branch and enjoy refreshments and activities. To celebrate 125 years of library service to the community, WPL is featuring photographs from the local history collection and community archive.
