The new bookmobile is equipped to offer the same services as a regular library branch, including book lending, digital resources, and various programs for all ages.

is open 7 days a week in 9
locations in 2026. Hours of operation are also standardized as noon to 8 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays, and 10 am to 6 pm on all other days.

ARCHITECTURE RESOURCES DONATED BY LOCAL GROUP

Thanks to a $700 donation by the Windsor Region Society of Architects (WRSA), Windsor Public Library has added a collection of children’s materials on the topic of architecture to the Seminole Branch collection. September 30 is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation in Canada.  All branches of Windsor Public Library will be closed, but displays of Indigenous content and resources will be featured at all branches and online at the Digital Branch throughout the week.  Also please check here for additional information and resources. WINDSOR PUBLIC LIBRARY BRANCHES CLOSED

All branches of Windsor Public Library will be closed on Monday, September 19 to honour the life and legacy of her majesty Queen Elizabeth II. WPL will join with the City of Windsor in marking September 19 as a Day of Mourning.  This coincides with Her Late Majesty’s State Funeral in the United Kingdom, and the end of the official period of mourning in Canada. RIVERSIDE BRANCH RECEIVES ‘TLC’

Over the past several weeks library staff has been busy giving Riverside Branch a dramatic transformation with the ‘big reveal’ happening earlier this week. One such activity was boarding the Boblo Island Ferries to Boblo Island Amusement Park down the Detroit River located across from Amherstburg,  Ontario. “Check out” nature with WPL!

Windsor Public Library is once again excited to be partnering with Ontario Parks in loaning out free Day-Use Vehicle permits for Ontario Provincial Parks. These “Park Passes” circulate for 7 days and are both non-holdable and non-renewable. Due to high usage last year, we’ve added additional passes to the collection!  Passes are available at all WPL branches (with the exception of Local History) on a “first come first served” basis.  Call your nearest branch to check availability.
