Over the past several weeks library staff has been busy giving Riverside Branch a dramatic transformation with the ‘big reveal’ happening earlier this week.
The 14,000+ square foot building was constructed in 1995 and recently saw a renovation and re-configuration of the first floor, including new flooring, the move of public computers to a more easily accessed location and changes to the Circulation and Information desks – all to enhance the customer experience.
“I encourage all Riverside customers to stop in and experience our beautiful new surroundings,” says WPL CEO Kitty Pope. “It’s our hope these upgrades will persuade more members of the community to come on in and check us out, hopefully like what they see and come back often.”
The $30,000 renovation is part of a larger library board plan which, on an annual basis, selects a branch to receive facility updates and improvements. Riverside has a collection size of 42,000 items plus and on average sees close to 5,000 visitors per month.
