Jean Foster, Director of Community Development & Partnerships

Jean Foster* is the Director Community Development and Partnerships at Windsor Public Library. She has worked at Windsor Public Library since May 2001 and held various management positions in IT, Public Service, Adult Literacy and special projects.

She was previously the Director of Information Services at St. Clair College where she was responsible for computing and telecommunications services.

Jean is an active member Ontario Library Association as OLITA president in 2005, OLITA councilor for 6 years and director on OLA Board for 2004 and 2005. She was President of Board of Directors for Information Windsor, participated in the launch of the Windsor-Essex 211 Service and is now Chair of the Windsor Essex 211 Community Advisory Committee. Also a member of Literary Arts Windsor and Windsor Endowment for the Arts, Jean has worked on the planning committees for BookFest Windsor since 2004. She has also participated in the WEDnet™ / Connecting Windsor Essex™ “Smart Community” project and has previously served as a director of the Hospice of Windsor and Essex County Boards.

*Ms. Foster passed away May 26 after a courageous battle with cancer.  She took great joy in participating in community service where her colleagues and friends will always remember her kindness and compassion. She will be missed.
