Windsor Public Library is once again excited to be partnering with Ontario Parks in loaning out free Day-Use Vehicle permits for Ontario Provincial Parks. These “Park Passes” circulate for 7 days and are both non-holdable and non-renewable.

BREAKING NEWS: BOOKMOBILE REPLACEMENT APPROVED

The past two years has seen the Windsor Public Library Board, administration and staff working tirelessly to replace FRED – our much loved bookmobile. Old age and constant use led to FRED being retired from the road in 2020. Hard work and diligence paid off last night, as Windsor City Council passed a motion allocating funds for the WPLB to proceed in acquiring a replacement.

SERVICE UPDATE

Effective Thursday, January 6, 2022, contactless curbside pickup of materials will commence with all in-branch services suspended. The laminating service for vaccination certificates (with QR code) will continue via the WPL curbside service. “With the rapid spread of the Omicron variant of Covid-19, the health and safety of customers and staff is paramount,” says WPL Board Chair, Councillor Rino Bortolin.
As health and safety restrictions slowly begin to lift and vaccination rates rise, there is hope we can discover the ‘new normal’ and put Covid-19 behind us. Windsor Public Library has good news: operating under Step 3 of the provincial Reopening Ontario Act, effective Monday, February 7, in-branch services will be available including limited browsing, public computer use and lamination services for QR codes. PRINT PROOF OF VACCINATION STATUS AT LIBRARY BRANCHES

Beginning September 22, 2021, the Province of Ontario requires us to be fully vaccinated and to show proof of vaccination status to access certain businesses and settings. Vaccination receipts can be printed or downloaded from the provincial booking portal.
