The past two years has seen the Windsor Public Library Board, administration and staff working tirelessly to replace FRED – our much loved bookmobile. Old age and constant use led to FRED being retired from the road in 2020.
Hard work and diligence paid off last night, as Windsor City Council passed a motion allocating funds for the WPLB to proceed in acquiring a replacement.
Thanks are due to the WPLB led by Chair, Councillor Rino Bortolin and Councillors Jeewen Gill and Jim Morrison and community members Jim Stuart, Holly Dougall, Theresa Piruzza and Massimo De Menech for their unwavering belief in the bookmobile program and the work it performed in providing library service to the under served and unserved residents of Windsor.
Also, thanks are due to the large fan base of groupies who have contacted us about FRED and our plans for a replacement bookmobile.
Stay tuned for more information on the coming arrival…
