Windsor Public Library is preparing to open its new Central Branch at 400 City Hall Square, marking an exciting new chapter for library service in downtown Windsor.
The final day of public service at the current Central Branch location in the Paul Martin Building, 185 Ouellette Avenue, will be Saturday, September 19, 2026.
To allow for the relocation of library collections, equipment, technology, and furnishings, the Central Branch will be temporarily closed from September 20 to 23, 2026.
The new Central Branch located at 400 City Hall Square will welcome the public beginning Thursday, September 24, 2026.
“This move represents an exciting milestone for Windsor Public Library and the community we serve,” said Library Board Chair Mark McKenzie. “We look forward to welcoming residents to our new downtown location and continuing to provide access to collections, programs, technology, and services in a modern and welcoming environment.”

There are 9 branches in Windsor, open Mondays and Wednesdays from 12:00pm to 8:00pm and all other days between 10:00am and 6:00pm. We also have Local History and the Bookmobile FRED 2.0.
