Muir Branch Opens

The JOHN MUIR BRANCH is the newest in the Windsor Public Library system when it OFFICIALLY opened Saturday, September 28. The 1 pm ceremony at 363 Mill Street in Sandwich Town was attended by close to 300 local library lovers who were in awe of the transformation and commissioning of the 1921 Sandwich Fire Hall and Stable into a stunning 21st. century public library facility.

The 7,400 sq. ft. branch (1,400 SF basement & 6,000 on 1st and 2nd floors) designed by architect Jason Grossi of studio g+G inc., balances library needs with the space limitations of the location.  The $5.5 million facility recognizes the need for a functional library in the 21st. century, providing space for customers and technology.
