Ron Fellows
Race Car Driver
Born, September 28, 1959, Windsor, Ontario.
To say Ron Fellows is an accomplished race car driver would be a gross understatement.
Ron began his racing career, as so many other drivers do, racing Karts at a young age. This
led to stints in Formula Ford 1600 and Formula Ford 2000. His career really took off in the late 1980’s when he made his professional debut driving a Chevrolet Corvette in the Player’s GM Challenge.
This soon led to his long-term association with GM’s Corvette Racing Program. He became one of the most successful drivers in the history of the SCCA Trans-Am Series and won the GTS Class in the prestigious Le Mans 24 hour race in 2001, 2002 and 2004, again driving a Chevrolet Corvette. He was also the 2003 American Le Mans Series GTS Class Champion and won the 12 Hours of Sebring in 2002 and 2004 in the GTS Class. Ron has also had various stints in the NASCAR World Truck Series, the Nationwide Series and the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.
Fellows currently owns a chain of Ron Fellows Performance Driving Schools and operates a charity called the Sunoco-Ron Fellows Karting Championship, which helps introduce young children to the sport of auto racing.
In 2007, General Motors introduced the 2007 Ron Fellows Championship edition Z06 Corvette. Fellows established the Ron Fellows Performance Driving School in at Spring Mountain Motor Resort near Las Vegas in 2008. Ron Fellows was appointed a member of the Order of Canada in December, 2019 “for the excellence of his multidisciplinary career in motor racing”.
He lives in Mississauga, Ontario with his wife and three children.
