Read your favourite magazines online

It’s the most wonderful time of the year…for reading your favourite magazines online. With the busy hustle and bustle of the holiday season, some of us take a step back from the hottest can’t-put-them-down bestsellers and instead take in convenient little nuggets of information in the form magazine articles and the super pretty pictures that accompany them.  I am a dedicated magazine reader so I definitely try to check in on the collection every month, but the December & January issues, in my opinion, cannot be missed; they contain more than just a few of my favourite things, and definitely all of Oprah’s favourite things, hehe.

Take, for example, some of the Home & Lifestlye magazines like Canadian Living, Good Housekeeping, Food Network Magazine, and Martha Stewart Living – they’ve got endless recipes for Christmas cookies and delicious drinks; I can even look at back issues from previous years to track down that oh-so-cute cake that everybody fell in love with.

Conveniently tucked into the same interface as all of these scrumptious sweets, we have fitness tips from the pros: Men’s Health, Shape, Women’s Health, Runners World – “Arms & Abs” “Look 10 Years Younger” – yes please.

Come late December when the cookies are gone and the decorations are packed away, many of us like to reflect on the year that has passed and think about what the upcoming year has in store. For these relaxing and more reflective moments, we have Macleans (with an archive going back to 1905), National Geographic Traveler, The New Yorker, and the Consumer Reports 2019 Buying Guide. Then we have those less reflective moments where we just want to take a moment to relax, chill, and learn every detail of royal life and Hollywood that we missed while we were busy decorating, baking, and working up a sweat – and for those moments we have Hello Canada and OK!

These are just a few examples of the many digital magazines available to WPL cardholders. If you’re interested in checking these out, the Apps you will want to use are RB Digital, Flipster, and PressReader. If you have a tablet or a smartphone you can download your magazines directly to your device; if you don’t, or even if you prefer to read them on a computer, each of these apps also has a web based interface that you can use to read.

Happy Reading!
