The new bookmobile is equipped to offer the same services as a regular library branch, including book lending, digital resources, and various programs for all ages.

locations in 2026. Hours of operation are also standardized as noon to 8 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays, and 10 am to 6 pm on all other days.

WPL to Honour Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women with Faceless Dolls Project

During the week of May 16th – 22nd, the Windsor Public Library will be hosting a special project to bring awareness to the cases of close to 1200 missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls in Canada. In coordination with the Can-Am Indian Friendship Centre and the Métis Nation of Ontario, WPL will be hosting the Faceless Dolls Project. Congratulations to local student, Enzo Campa, winner of the English Language division of the Poetry in Voice competition sponsored by the Griffin Trust for Excellence in Poetry. Assumption High School’s representative was one of hundreds of students, from more than 870 schools, who traveled to Toronto to demonstrate their recitation skills.  You can listen to the prize winning performers, made available through the CBC website....

PRINCE – The loss of a great artist and amazing talent.

We lost a remarkable recording artist, musician, actor, songwriter, and mentor.  Prince died Thursday, April 21, 2016 at age 57.  Prince’s music gave a generation joyful dances as well as addressed serious situations such as abuse and alcoholism to name a few. Windsor Public Library To Open Local History Centre

The new LOCAL HISTORY CENTRE will officially open at Central Library (850 Ouellette Avenue) at a 2 p.m. ceremony on Thursday, April 14. Located on the second floor, it’s an enclosed space where customers can access resources from the WPL Local History Collection, as well as items from the Municipal Archive. With the relaunch of WPL’s freshly painted Community Art Wall, we are excited to announce our next exhibit from local artist, Gregory Stasiak. A member of the Arts Council of Windsor & Region and Artcite Inc; Stasiak’s exhibit mixes the mediums of both poetry and performance art to help us celebrate National Poetry Month for April 2016. Histo-cultural presenter Kim Elliott will give a 90-minute multi-media presentation on local AfriCanadian History as part of the WPL Black History Month celebration. As a direct descendent of early Underground Railroad Slave Refugees and Black Loyalists that defended the Upper Canada frontier in the Fort Detroit  and Fort Malden region, he has an interesting and informative perspective.
