The new bookmobile is equipped to offer the same services as a regular library branch, including book lending, digital resources, and various programs for all ages.
The Bookmobile schedule can also be found in the Events Calendar.

locations in 2026. Hours of operation are also standardized as noon to 8 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays, and 10 am to 6 pm on all other days.

RIP Ursula K. Le Guin

Acclaimed fantasy and science fiction author Ursula K. Le Guin died Monday, January 22, 2018 at the age of 88. While she leaves a tremendous legacy of wonderful, thoughtful, and acclaimed literature she will be missed. In the words of Margaret Atwood “her sane, committed, annoyed, humorous, wise and always intelligent voice is much needed now.” While I haven’t read as much of Le Guin’s writing as I may have liked. Free Forms Clinics Return to Central Library

Filling out forms can be a frustrating and difficult task. Luckily, the St. Clair College Forms Clinic has returned to the Central Library. The Forms Clinic is being run by paralegal students from St. Clair under the supervision of a licensed paralegal professional. Flags of Remembrance Plaques at Central Branch

The news that several plaques honouring Canadian veterans had been stolen from a Riverside Drive memorial was heartbreaking. The plaques and Canadian flags were installed by the Veterans Voices of Canada as part of their National Flags of Remembrance project. However, when plaques started to go missing from the memorial, they were removed in order to preserve them. William F.(BILL) Chisholm Branch To Officially Open Saturday

Construction on the newest addition to the Windsor Public Library system, the W.F. CHISHOLM BRANCH (1075 Ypres Avenue), was completed well ahead of schedule and will officially open at a Saturday, October 21 ceremony, which begins at 1:30 pm. Community members are welcome to attend. The new $2.46 million, 6,500 sq. ft. library is a 21st. century facility with a distinctly automotive theme and connects to the west end of the Optimist Community Centre on Ypres Avenue in South Walkerville. Local History Centre Recognized By OGS

The Windsor Public Library has received an Award of Merit from the Ontario Genealogical Society (OGS) for the LOCAL HISTORY CENTRE at Central Library, which opened in April 2016. Windsor Mayor and WPL Board Chair Drew Dilkens was present at the September meeting of the Essex Branch of OGS to accept the honour. Severe Flooding Causes Library Closures

The Budimir (1310 Grand Marais Road West) and Riverside (6305 Wyandotte Street East) branches of Windsor Public Library are closed today through Friday because of severe flooding sustained during the storms experienced throughout the region yesterday. Updates will be posted on the library web site at windsorpubliclibrary.com regarding plans to re-open. To assist customers in the impacted areas, FRED, the WPL mobile library will be situated at Riverside Branch in the morning and at Budimir in the afternoon. WPL Welcomes New Subscription Service

Windsor Public Library has recently introduced a new service to help customers maximize their reading experience. LIBRARY AWARE is a free subscription service, available though the WPL web site, which generates personalized reading lists, newsletters and other forms of communication – all geared to individual customer choice. By selecting preferred reading genres, customers can receive reading recommendations, newsletters and other promotional material via email, directly to their homes.
