Hoopla, Hoopla, HOOPLA! This word has been in my vocabulary for about a year now, and it’s just as much fun every time I say it.  With our Hoopla-versary just around the corner, let’s look back and reflect on all of the reasons why we love this eResource so dearly.

–Every title is available right away. No waiting. No holds. Ever.

–It’s available anytime, anywhere.  I have used Hoopla on a plane, on a train, in a car, near and far.
Note to self: pen a catchy children’s book about the many places to use Hoopla.

–It is super easy to use.  From registration, to browsing, to borrowing, every step is clear and straightforward. You don’t even have to return your items.

–It’s all free AND there are no late fees. Enough said.

I have saved the best for last (drumroll please)…

-It has an awesome selection of Movies, TV Shows, MUSIC & AUDIOBOOKS.
That’s right! Music & Audiobooks are now available to WPL customers on Hoopla.

Here’s how it works:

-You can still borrow 20 items/month, in any combination you choose.
(10 albums + 3 movies + 2 episodes + 5 Audiobooks; 2 albums +10 books + 8 movies – it’s entirely up to you).

-Most Movies & TV shows go out for 72 hours (a small portion go out for 48 hours); Music for 7 days; and Audiobooks for 3 weeks.

-You can choose to stream or download any title that you borrow, regardless of the format.

-For music, an entire album only counts as 1 download.
It’s a great way to take an album for a test drive to see if you like the whole thing, or just the songs they play on the radio.
