Meghan Christina Agosta
Meghan Christina Agosta is a member of the Women’s Canadian National Ice Hockey team, where she plays in the forward position. She competed with the team in four separate winter Olympics; 2006 in Turin, 2010 in Vancouver, and 2014 in Sochi, winning the gold medal in these three, and most recently a silver medal in the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in PyeongChang, South Korea.
Meghan was born in Windsor, Ontario on February 12th, 1987 and raised in Ruthven, 
Ontario. At 6 years of age Meghan joined a boy’s peewee hockey team due to the lack of a girl’s team. However, she played exceptionally well and was moved up to the next level after her first game. Her talent continued to shine and she continued to play on boy’s teams through to the peewee minor AAA league (under 13 years old). Later she played for the AA Windsor Wildcats, a team in the Ontario Provincial Women’s Hockey League. Even throughout college, Meghan continued to play and develop her hockey skills. She attended Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pennsylvania in 2011, where she graduated with a major in Criminal Justice Law Enforcement, and a minor in Criminalistics Psychology. She continued her education post graduation, and in 2015 she graduated from the Vancouver Police Department Academy and became a sworn member of the force.
In addition to playing for the Women’s Canadian National Ice Hockey team, Meghan runs her own hockey camp called “Agosta’s High Performance Hockey Academy,”” where she shares her experiences and talents with those who attend.
