HOOPLA UPDATE

On May 1, 2024, Windsor Public Library will be removing all existing price caps from Hoopla titles. This means that you’ll have even more great digital items—including the latest and popular movies, eAudiobooks, and eBooks—at your fingertips!

Since Hoopla is a pay per use model, we will also be reducing the number of patron Hoopla borrows from 20 to 15 per month.  This will help offset the cost of enhancing this popular service while also continuing to offer other digital resources so that our patrons have a broad range of content to choose from.

Keep in mind that Hoopla is only one of several popular digital resources that you can access with your WPL card!   We invite you to explore some of our other digital offerings such as Kanopy (movies), CloudLibrary (eBooks and eAudiobooks), Libby (magazines), Freegal (music) and LinkedIn Learning (video courses).

Finally, here’s a tip: Hoopla BingePasses are a helpful way to make the most of your monthly limit since multiple titles are packaged together under a single borrow. For example, the Curiosity Stream BingePass gives you access to thousands of titles covering science, nature, history, travel and more for 7 days with just a single Hoopla borrow!

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to reach out to us!

CORRECTION: In yesterday’s blog post we mentioned the Hallmark Movies Now BingePass. Unfortunately, we just found out that it is currently only available to US public libraries. We will let you know when/if that changes!  In the meantime please check out one of our other great BingePass options!

      Hello,

I believe you may have the wrong Windsor Public Library. We are located in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
If you do mean us, then no. Unfortunately we can not lend Playaways (or any other non-print material) through ILLO.
      Best of luck!
