Safe Surfing
The Library offers free public Internet access at all branches.
Windsor Public Library recognizes the concerns that parents have about potential harm to their children when they are exposed to pornographic, criminal or hate material on the Internet. In order to promote safety on the Internet the library recommends the following websites as a means to educate you and your child on how to surf the net safely and wisely.
At the present time, the Internet at the public library is not completely filtered. No filter is guaranteed to block all sites that one might consider objectionable. The library continues to investigate ways to offer filtered sites to children. Currently, at least one computer with filtering software is offered at each location. It is up to a parent or guardian to request this service in writing at the time the child applies for a library card. It is preferred that children use the Internet in the presence of a parent or guardian.
