Windsor Public Library offers a variety of eBook apps and resources for all readers. eBooks and eAudiobooks are books and audiobooks that are available digitally on your computer, smartphone, tablet, or eReader. Using the resources listed here, you can browse, search, and borrow new and favourite eBooks and eAudiobooks – all from the comfort of your own home. Tumblebook Library (K-6) is a curated database of children’s e-books, from children’s book publishers such as Simon & Schuster, Chronicle Books, Candlewick Press, Charlesbridge Press, Walker & Company, Annick Press, Orca Books, Lerner Books, and HarperCollins Publishers, amongst others. The collections provide enrichment to students who are reading independently with a variety of high interest material. It also provides support to students who require skill building with a variety of exercises that can be matched with other areas of the curriculum.
TeenBookCloud (gr. 7-12) is a curated database of e-books and other digital content perfect for young adults in middle school and high school.
Romance BookCloud provides us with unlimited and unrestricted access to a curated collection of romance ebooks. Whether you prefer contemporary, historical, time travel, paranormal, or inspirational, you will find your romance novel here. With a core collection of 1800 titles, including award winners and best sellers.
cloudLibrary. A large collection of eBooks and eAudiobooks. Includes fiction and nonfiction titles for adults, with some materials for children and young adults. Select from new, popular titles and those from your favourite authors. Available on a desktop or as a free app for smartphones, tablets, and selected supported e-readers. Use the free app to download titles for offline access. Hoopla Digital. Offers thousands of fiction and nonfiction eBooks and a wide selection of eAudiobooks. Provides titles for both adults and children. Use in a browser or as a free app on your smartphone or tablet. Use the app to download titles for offline reading or listening. Gale Virtual Reference Library. An extensive collection of nonfiction reference eBooks including dictionaries, encyclopedias, and handbooks. Available online through a browser. Select from a variety of subject areas, including history, law, education, biography, arts, literature, and more. Ideal as a resource for research support. Search the entire collection for information on a topic or browse publications by subject.
Learning Express Library. A continuing education resource with an extensive collection of eBooks. Available online through a browser. Materials for a variety of ages and learning levels, including adults, postsecondary students, high school students, and children. eBooks are available on topics such as GED preparation, postsecondary admission tests, grammar, public speaking, and much more. Project Gutenberg. A free online collection of thousands of eBooks and eAudiobooks within the public domain. Select from classics, periodicals, fiction, and much more in a variety of languages.
