Archives/Local History
Windsor Public Library has a wide range of resources related to local history.
Physical resources are made available to the public in two locations:
The Local History Branch is located at 3312 Sandwich Street. It contains books, microfilm, photographs, newspapers, magazines and a number of other resources related to the history of Windsor and area. It also contains the library of the Essex County Branch, Ontario Ancestors.
Opening Hours
Monday: 12 pm – 8 pm
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday: 10 am – 6 pm
Friday, Saturday: 9 am – 1 pm and 2 pm – 5 pm

Windsor’s Community Archives is located at 85 Pitt Street East.
