As we head into another travel season, this week’s Throwback Thursday Pic was taken sometime in the 1930s at Windsor International Airport. The photograph is of a Trans Canada Airlines (predecessor to Air Canada) Lockheed 10 Electra arriving at Windsor. According to Wikipedia, the Lockheed 10 Electra had a crew of 2 and a capacity of 10 passengers with a cruising speed of 185 mph and a cruising altitude of about 21,000 feet. The range for the Electra was about 810 miles. Build by Lockheed Aircraft Corporation in the 1930s to compete with Boeing 247 and Douglas DC-2.
