What’s All the HOOPLA About?

One of our most popular electronic resources is Hoopla – a digital media service that enables you to borrow a great selection of movies, television shows, documentaries, music, and audiobooks that can be streamed or downloaded onto your computer, smartphone or tablet, all with your Windsor Public Library card. While the library is closed over the next few weeks, we will be increasing the borrowing limit to 20 per month, so we can ensure everyone has access to quality entertainment and resources.

To access Hoopla, you will need a valid Windsor Public Library card. If you don’t have one, you can sign up for one here. Hoopla is available as an app to phone, tablet, and TV users, and via its website to computer users. If you have never used Hoopla in the past, you will need to create an account and link it to your library card number. If you have used Hoopla, just use your credentials to log in. You will now have 20 checkouts per month.

If you’re looking for recommendations on what to read or listen, sign up for one of our LibraryAware newsletters that will exclusively be promoting e-books and e-audiobooks over the next few weeks. If you want to see what other people are watching, check out the most popular movies on Hoopla for the past month!

    Hi there!

I love having Hoopla available but have a question. Do magazines borrowed through Hoopla count towards my monthly limit?

Hello! I don’t believe that we carry magazines through Hoopla. Are you perhaps thinking of Libby, our new app from OverDrive that carries our 3,000+ electronic magazine collection? If so, the good news is that you can check out an unlimited number of magazines on Libby each month! The collection is really great so if you haven’t checked it out already you may want to do so!
If you have additional questions about Hoopla please email jcatenacci@windsorpubliclibrary.com and she will be happy to help you.
      Happy reading!
