Emily Truman (pictured) started the Holiday HappyMail campaign in November and is closing in on her goal of collecting 10,000 Christmas cards for area senior citizens. Emily distributes them to lonely seniors at area nursing homes and was at Central Library earlier this week to pick up nine boxes loaded with handmade cards. To date she has collected over 7,000 and anticipates receiving 10,000 before the holiday season is over. Library branches developed card-making stations and employed 3-D printer technology to assist in the card making process.
