Tuesday March 18th at 6pm will mark the first meeting of the new Writing and Illustration Club at WPL’s Riverside Branch. This youth program has planned various activities to build a greater understanding of the creative writing process. It is also a safe haven for writers who want to share their work with others, both in the group and on-line. Illustrators too will have free reign to create illustrations for storybooks or comics, wherever their interest lies.
Members of this Club will also have access to Riverside’s state of the art iMac which now runs both iBooks Author and Autodesk Sketchbook Pro. We will also explore different apps for both iPad and Android that can enhance writing and illustration techniques.
The Riverside Writing and Illustration Club has set up a free blog on WordPress to keep parents and friends up to date with what is happening and to teach those interested the in-and-outs of on-line blogging. The blog page will also keep a complete list of dates for meetings for the next year in the About section.
There is much fun to be had! Even if you cannot make every meeting, please come out and join us when you can. Remember, all members will have access to the iMac at any time during open library hours to work on their creative masterpieces. We will accept any writer and/or illustrator over and including the age of 8 years old! We hope to see you there!
