Help improve the reading skills of a child – Join the Book Buddy Program!

Book Buddy Program

The Windsor Public Library Book Buddy Program is a volunteer-based literacy program designed to assist and encourage children with reading difficulties in order to motivate them and provide a positive reading experience.

Program Benefits: one-on-one reading with supportive volunteers; increase in confidence and motivation to read; interesting reading materials and fun activities; opportunity to develop comprehension and imagination; available at any Windsor Public Library branch.

Program Requirements: volunteers must have a current Police Vulnerable Sector Check (18 years or older) or Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (under the age of 18); volunteers meet with their buddies for an hour a week; volunteers must commit to participating for at least 6 months.

Children must be between the ages of 6 and 11. The child’s parent / guardian must be present during the session for children under 10 years old.
