Wilbur F. Herman and his wife, Adie Knox Herman were prominent figures in Windsor during the 1920s and 30s. He purchased Windsor’s newspaper in 1918, eventually renaming it the Border Cities Star and later the Windsor Star. Both W.F. Herman Secondary School and Adie Knox Community Centre are named in their honour.
