WPL’s Local History Branch is one of many community organizations helping to preserve and promote Black history within the Windsor-Essex County area.  Available at the branch are photographs, Windsor/Essex yearbooks, census records, voting lists, historical maps dating from 1790 forward, scrapbooks, newsletters, and access to early newspapers including; the Provincial Freeman and Voice of the Fugitive. Kanopy, one of WPL’s streaming video providers has recently changed the way they offer services to our patrons.  They have replaced the play credit system that was previously in place with a new ticketing system as of November 1, 2023.
