Continuing with visits to Windsor by Queen Elizabeth II in honour of her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee. This week’s Throwback Thursday Pic is of the Queen’s visit to Windsor in 1959. Queen Elizabeth II and her husband Prince Philip visited Windsor on July 3rd, 1959 as part of her 45-day tour of Canada. Her Majesty arrived in Canada on June 18th and departed on August 1st. Following up on the first outdoor movie screening of the summer, we’re is happy to announce that the next movie date is Friday, June 24 at Bridgeview Park (1899 Grove Avenue) in West Windsor. This week’s Throwback Thursday Pic has the Queen visiting Windsor on Monday October 1st, 1984, her first visit to Windsor since 1959. With the warmer weather arriving, thoughts turn to summer time activities. One such activity was boarding the Boblo Island Ferries to Boblo Island Amusement Park down the Detroit River located across from Amherstburg,  Ontario.
