Let’s Get Digital: researching with microfilm and microfiche
The Windsor Public Library has a large collection of microfilms. One of the largest components of the microfilm collection is the Windsor Star (Border Cities Star, The Evening Record) from 1893 to the present.
Hard copies (paper printouts) may be made from the microfilms.
Our newest machine, the Minolta MS 6000 digital microfilm reader allows the researcher to print hard copies of articles, or to save to a computer file.
Small files may be saved on memory sticks.
Larger files may be saved on cd-roms or memory sticks.
An enhanced image can be produced by our Digitization Office.
(May take up to 3 days for completion, $5.00 charge applies).

I am doing research on an old tackle maker named William Armas Hotti and found an article on him that ran in the Feb. 13, 1948 edition of the Windsor Star, on the front of the Third Page. The article continues on page 8, which I dont have. The original article ran under the headline ‘Hunter Drews Bead on City ‘Wolves’ and continues on page 8 under ‘Hunter’. Is it possible to get a copy of the page 8 article ??

I am looking for ALL news articles about a woman named Florence Revait who was found murdered in Pazners Scrapyard on Drouillard Road in February of 1966.
I am hoping there will be some follow up to the original story.
Hi Kerry,
I have found some follow up articles regarding the Florence Revait (also spelled as Rivait in the Windsor Star articles) murder. The articles are fairly in depth, with interviews of her mother and husband. So far, I have found articles up till Feb, 28 1966, but have not had a chance to further the research. If you wish us to continue with the research, please note the possible charges that will be incurred. I have provided you with a link to that information. Currently, I have found articles from Feb. 25,26 and 28th (there was no edition printed on the 27th.). Please respond with further instruction.
Thank-you,
Mary-Lou Gelissen

Hi. Am I able to view the micro films?
My family immigrated to Canada and settled in Windsor in the late 70’s. The Windsor Star published several stories about our arrival, and progress.
My parents, then I, have managed to keep the original papers for over 42yrs. Unfortunately, there’s a few stories that I’m missing the “continued on page…”. Please advise if I may access the micro films. Thank you
I will forward your request to our Local History Branch.
I wonder if you could find articles about my dad Tony Nadalin. He played accordion and was in a quintet .They played as part of the Windsor Firemen’s 5 th field day at a children’s Shelter. I don’t know what year that was.
He also played at weddings. Right after the 2nd world war he changed his name to Tony Martin for a while. I’d appreciate any info that you have of my Dad as I never really knew much of this period of his life. He was born September 4, 1913. Thanks.
Good morning. Please send your request with as many details as possible to askalibrarian@windsorpubliclibrary.com.
A date would certainly helps as such a wide research would almost be impossible without a date range.
