Taken in 1967, early in the morning before the city is fully awake, this week’s Throwback Thursday Pic is looking south at the intersection of Ouellette and University Avenues. Located at the south-east corner is the Morris Building with Peoples Credit Jewellers and upstairs is the Seaboard Finance Company. Further along Ouellette is the Palace Theatre. The large office tower is the Canada Building and next to it is the Prince Edward Hotel. Along this block between University Avenue and Park Street are many small independent shops and business attesting to the importance of downtown  as the commercial and shopping hub of Windsor. Over the next five decades this block has seen many new developments with the Canada Building being the only building still standing today.
