REMEMBRANCE DAY

Every year, at 11 AM on November 11, Canadians pause in a moment of silence to honour and remember the men and women who have served, and continue to serve Canada during times of war, conflict and peace. We remember the more than 2,300,000 Canadians who have served throughout our nation’s history and the more than 118,000 who made the ultimate sacrifice.

WPL has a number of great resources about Canadians at war.  The Veterans Memories project has photographs and interviews with local veterans, which show a very Windsor perspective. We also have books, suitable for any age and interest.  Staff have compiled lists of resources for children, and adults, both fiction and non-fiction.

We encourage everyone to observe a minute of silence on Remembrance Day. Join WPL in remembering the sacrifices of those who have contributed so much for Canada.
