THROWBACK THURSDAY

This week’s Throwback Thursday Pic was taken approximately in 1925. It is of the interior of the Hiram Walker & Sons head office building. The building was opened in 1894 on Sandwich Street East (today Riverside Drive East) in what was then known as the Town of Walkerville (now part of Windsor). This photograph was taken on the second floor showing the entrance to the Board Room with stairs to the first floor in front, and behind the photographer was the Sampling Room. Today the building still stands on Riverside Drive and all though it is no longer used as head offices for the distillery business, it is open to the public for tours.
