THROWBACK THURSDAY

Continuing with visits to Windsor by Queen Elizabeth II in honour of her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee. This week’s Throwback Thursday Pic is of the Queen’s visit to Windsor in 1959. Queen Elizabeth II and her husband Prince Philip visited Windsor on July 3rd, 1959 as part of her 45-day tour of Canada. Her Majesty arrived in Canada on June 18th and departed on August 1st. The Queen visited every province and territory in Canada as well as attend the official opening of the St. Lawrence Seaway. The Royal Couple arrived by train from Chatham and departed Windsor on the Royal Yacht Britannia as seen in the background of the photograph.
