WINDSOR PUBLIC LIBRARY ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING – 2022

The Annual General Meeting of the Windsor Public Library Board is scheduled for Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at 11 a.m. and will be held virtually through the Zoom Video Conferencing Platform. The featured speaker is Richard Peddie, local owner of the River Bookshop in Amherstburg, co-chair of Amherstburg Thrive and retired president and CEO of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment.

Mr. Peddie will speak on books in his life and why they matter.

Richard Peddie retired as president and CEO of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment in 2012 where he oversaw all business and team operations related to the Maple Leafs, the Raptors, Toronto FC and the Marlies, as well as running the operations of the Air Canada Centre, MLSE’s three television channels and Maple Leaf Square. A proud native of Windsor, he graduated from the University of Windsor in 1970 and received an honorary doctorate from the institution in 2001.  Before joining MLSE, he helped grow such iconic brands as Colgate, Kool Aid, Hostess, Pillsbury, Green Giant, TSN – as well as the Toronto Raptors and the Toronto Maple Leafs.  A best selling author, together with his wife, Colleen, they opened the River Bookshop in Amherstburg in the fall of 2020. The River Book Shop, they believe, is a hub that educates inspires and engages the community.

The AGM will also include presentation of the Windsor Public Library 2021 Annual Report and the annual address by the library board chair, Councillor Rino Bortolin.
