This week’s Throwback Thursday Pic was taken in the early 1960s. The photograph was taken looking north-west along Ouellette Avenue just south of University Avenue. This was time when Ouellette Avenue was the main shopping and service destination for Windsor. In this photograph, we can see a number of shops and business that once occupied the city’s main shopping district, such as George H. Wilkinson Shoes, Steele Optical Company, Toronto General Trusts Corporation, Tip Top Tailors, Diane Frocks and Red Robin.
