PROVINCE TO DISTRIBUTE FREE, TAKE-HOME COVID-19 RAPID TESTS IN HIGH RISK AREAS

The provincial government recently announced  up to two million take-home COVID-19 rapid tests will be given out free of charge at various locations in high-traffic areas, including malls, retail stores, holiday markets, public libraries, and at transit hubs.

The Ministry of Health has clarified that broad distribution of rapid tests through all public library locations is not planned – only two library systems in select higher risk areas are included in the pop up rapid test distribution plans – Peterborough Public Library and Ottawa Public Library.  Distribution at these locations is not slated to begin until the New Year.

A full list of LCBO locations where Ontario residents can pick-up free rapid tests is available here.

If  additional information on the distribution of rapid testing kits becomes available, this website will be updated.
