The percentage of Windsor Public Library staff confirming vaccination status or an approved accommodation is at 100% as of noon, Tuesday, November 16, 2021. As of Monday, November 15, 2021 the percentage of City of Windsor staff confirming status is at 91%.
“Providing library service to the community is our priority,” says WPL Board Chair, Councillor Rino Bortolin. “And doing so in a safe manner, with staff fully vaccinated provides a clear message to our customers – and colleagues – that health and safety is paramount in everything we do. Vaccination reduces the chance that you will get sick or infected if you are exposed to COVID-19 and provides a sense of well-being for staff working with the public on a daily basis. Staff is to be congratulated on reaching the 100% landmark.”
As of yesterday, mandatory proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required of all employees, council members, contractors and volunteers working for the city, who don’t have an exemption.
The mass vaccination site at Devonshire Mall is open Monday through Sunday from 8 am to 3:30 pm and walk-ins are welcome. Pharmacy and other clinic options remain as well and more information is available at www.WEVAX.com or by contacting the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit.
