This week’s Throwback Thursday Pic is looking towards Detroit along Ouellette Avenue, just north of the Wyandotte Street intersection. This photograph taken across the street from previous image used three weeks ago. Both images where taken in 1927 by commercial photographer Sid Lloyd. In this image, we can view a number of different establishments plying their trade. There is Central Billiard Parlor, Ponds Drugs (still a going concern to this day), Worthmore Store, Border Cities Hardware, Roberts Upstairs Clothiers, Greenbergs Delicatessen, Maple Leaf Lunch, and John Webb Diamonds, plus a shoe store and property management company round out the business in this photograph. This photograph shows the vibrancy of Downtown Windsor in the early part of the 20th Century.
