Happy Canada Day

As we approach Canada Day and a ‘new normal’ in Windsor, on behalf of our tremendous staff, thank you for your support as we navigate these pandemic times. It is a privilege  – and great fun – to find new and innovative ways to serve you.

The first phase of the WPL COVID-19 Recovery Plan began Monday, June 15 with the introduction of Curbside Pick-Up and Drop-Off Service at all library branches. The first week saw close to 700 requests for service with a similar number anticipated last week. A fantastic response! If you need a book or DVD, just give us a call at 519-796-5119.

To celebrate Canada Day, our gift to you is a very special list of the favourite Canadian  books of staff and friends. I hope, as you celebrate the day with family, you have the opportunity to steal some ‘me time’ to unwind and plan you next great read!

      We are currently developing policies and procedures for the next phase of our re-opening plan but do not yet have a firm date. We want to ensure that our reopening will protect public and staff health and safety Please keep an eye on our website where we will post further details as soon as they are confirmed. In the meantime you can use our curbside service by calling 519-796-5119 or completing this online form. Our librarians are also able to assist you with any reference questions or app help at AskALibrarian@windsorpubliclibrary.com.     If I can’t make it to pick up my books at my time, do I loose my books that are
    there for me or will I be given a different day?

      Hello! We have extended the period of time for individuals to pick up their holds from 7 days to 28 days to ensure that there is plenty of time to arrange for pick up. The 28 days start from the day the item arrives at the pick-up location. If you have already booked an appointment but can no longer make the scheduled date/time, please call the following number and they will guide you through the process to re-book your appointment: 519-796-5119
