This week’s Throwback Thursday Pic is of the British American Oil Company, Limited service station that was located at the north-west corner of Goyeau and Park. This photo was taken on 25 March 1948 not long after it opened as a gasoline service station. Prior to the location becoming a service station, it was the location of the Checker Cab Taxi Company office and garage. Both business closed down in the mid-1960s, and eventually was reopened as a Gulf Oil Company Service Station. Today the service station is long gone and is now the location of a Tim Horton’s Restaurant.
