THROWBACK THURSDAY

Windsor’s home grown business, Canada Salvage, was located downtown at 65 Pitt Street East before it moved to its current location on Ottawa Street. This week’s Throwback Thursday Pic was taken in 1963 looking toward the south side of Pitt Street. Other businesses in this picture are Steve Paris Shoes, Bergers Cut Rate Store and the Federal Outlet Store. Today, this space is now occupied by the Goyeau Parking Structure which was constructed in 1966. If you are interested in other historic images of Windsor that can be found in you Community Archives, please visit our digital exhibit “Windsor’s History and Pictures” at http://heritage.windsorpubliclibrary.com/.
