Library “Holds” Limit Changed

Windsor Public Library is making an adjustment to our customer use conditions which may impact heavy users and particularly those of you who use our “Holds” feature which is available to card holders with access to their accounts online.

Effective today (November 5), we are changing our Holds procedure: we are capping the number of holds which can be applied to a library card at 80.  This change is being made to address ongoing systems issues which we need to resolve.

We highly recommend you take a few minutes to review your holds and decide which titles you can wait to check out.  You have a feature in Bibliocommons which allows you to provides shelves on which you can “park” items that you would like to borrow in the future, but that you’re not quite ready for now – see this video or ask library staff at your branch or at 519-255-6770 for more assistance with this.

We appreciate your collaboration and understanding of the new procedure.

  1. Sue says:

80 holds per what? Card until renewed? Lifetime of user?
