Skipping The Bitter Cold Away with the Library Live Children’s Club

We are back and beating the winter cold!

JUMPING IN JANUARY started with an enthusiastic group of Teens, Teen volunteers, and club members. We gathered in the lower part of the Sandwich Library for our club’s annual fitness challenge. This was done directly after our writing session(featuring the work of A.A. Milne, author of Winnie the Pooh – birthday January 18, 1882,)  Loads of laughter, fun, and fitness discovery were shared by all.

So fight the Winter cold and visit Sandwich Library. Our next meeting will be on Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Chess Club, Art and Craft Club, Acting Club, Writing Club, Lego Club and more!

Spolight On Futures Programs

In the Spring I am starting our first Walking Book Club.

We’ll read and discuss great books. Then we will walk around the historic Sandwich neighbourhood and discover how this wonderful neighbourhood relates to the books we have just read.  At our first session (dates and times will be determined by the weather) we’ll be discovering our local graveyard after we have read books like:

John Bellairs’ The House With A Clock In Its Walls,

John Bellairs’ The Lamp From The Warlock’s Tomb

Kurt Cyrus’ Your Skeleton Is ShowingYour Skeleton Is Showing, Book Rhymes Of Blunder From Six Feet Under

Neil Gaiman’s The Graveyard Book

Richard Cleminson Keep’s Clatter Bash!Clatter Bash!, Book A Day Of The Dead Celebration

Eric Rohmann’s Bone Dog

Jennifer Ward’s There Was An Old Mummy Who Swallowed A Spider

or any similar topic.

Click on the name of the book and reserve your library copy and read in advance.

Hope you can join us.
