Don’t forget about Axis 360 for eBooks & eAudiobooks!

T’is the season for beaches, baseball, barbecues, and SUMMER READING! Library customers are eagerly loading up their tablets, eReaders, and smart phones with books from our digital collection.  I have spoken to many “digital” library enthusiasts over the last few weeks, and one line I keep hearing over and over is “I forgot about Axis 360!” For many eBook lovers, Overdrive is their go-to site for digital content; this is understandable – it was our first eBook App, and for a while, it was our only eBook App. Today I am here to gently (or not so gently) remind you: DON’T FORGET ABOUT AXIS 360! IF YOU DO, YOU’RE MISSING OUT

If you’re not familiar with Axis 360, have a look right away! You will be happy to find a slew of new releases, and plenty of popular fiction and nonfiction titles. You’ll also find content for children and teens. If you’re using a tablet or smartphone you can download the App direct from the App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android), and then log in using your library card. If you’re using an eReader, you can download your checkouts into Adobe Digital Editions, and then transfer them over to your eReader (same as the process for Overdrive books).

Some things to remember:

  • You can borrow titles from Overdrive AND from Axis 360 – you don’t have to choose one or the other. Both sites have different content, so really it’s in your best interest use them both.
  • Books (from both sites) can be downloaded onto your device, allowing you to read them/listen to them when you are not connected to the Internet.
  • Digital books can be borrowed for 21 days (even if they are high demand) – and automatically expire when your time is up. No need to return, and best of all, no late fees!

If you’d like to install the Axis 360 App (or any other library apps) you can access direct links to the App Store & Play Store here. If you have any questions about getting started with Axis 360, we are very happy to assist you.
Come on in for a visit, or give us a call!
