Windsor Public Library Exhibits Art

Beginning this month, the Windsor Public Library’s community display case will be part of Artcite Inc.’s Summer Art Fest 2013. Summer Art Fest is a downtown-wide exhibit featuring artwork in various galleries, businesses, storefronts, and WPL’s Central Library, 850 Ouellette Avenue, by artists from Windsor/Essex, Detroit and areas further afield. Summer Art Fest 2013 runs from July 19 through August 3, 2013. For more information on Summer Art Fest 2013, visit, click “upcoming” and scroll down to “ARTCITE’S SUMMER ART FEST 2013.” Click here for Artcite’s 2013 Summer Art Fest printable brochure.

The WPL Display Case and WPL Community Art Wall have featured displays by many community groups such as Windsor Women Working with Immigrant Women, Canada South Science City, and the World Refugee Day collective as well as the work of individual local artists such as Sue Marentette and John Vacratsis.

Interested in displaying your art on the Community Art Wall? Simply contact us and set up an appointment to preview your work. If selected, you will have the opportunity to display your art, together with an artist’s statement and biographical information. If you hope to sell your work, the library cannot handle any sales for you but you may include the appropriate contact information as part of your display in order that interested buyers may get in touch with you directly.

Artists wishing to rent the wall space must agree to and sign a waiver. The Windsor Public Library does not have a juried selection process and we ask that artists please keep in mind community standards when considering an exhibit for the WPL Community Art Wall.
