Hotel Transylvania Screening Rescheduled

Hotel Transylvania, the last outdoor movie screening of the year scheduled for Friday, October 19 at the Bridgeview Branch (1295 Campbell Avenue) has been rescheduled due to the forecast calling for high wind and associated bad weather.  The alternative date is Friday, October 26 – same time, same location. THROWBACK THURSDAY

With the upcoming Centennial of the Armistice that ended the Great War, Throwback Thursday will be showcasing photographs from the Great War period. This photograph was taken sometime between 1914 and 1918 showing the 99th Battalion marching down Ouellette Avenue towards the train station to eventually head overseas to the battlefields of Europe. October 1 to 7 is National Newspaper Week in Canada and this week’s Throwback Thursday pic is of C. H. Smith(founder of Smith’s Department Store in Windsor), starting the Press on the First Issue of the Ontario Edition of the Border Cities Star, October 1, 1929.
