The Pelee Island Project promises to be an amazing piece of work, with over
90 pages of text, 330 photos, several videos and audio clips and a GIS map, that
make up the story of Pelee Island from the Devonian and Pleistocene periods to
present day. The site will appeal to people of all ages, from the casual browser

Learn about the War of 1812
battles, a brave Indian chief named Tecumseh and southern slaves
escaping through the Underground Railway to freedom.
This exciting project allows children at level three learning to
explore Windsor and Essex County’s rich historical culture.

Region (2001)
The
history and statistics of Walkerville’s designated Heritage buildings
are available to you through iCity,
which utilizes the Geographical Information System (GIS) as an interface. A grant from the Provincial Government presented to the
Windsor/Essex Centre of Digital Expertise by the Minister of
Citizenship, Culture and Recreation makes this project possible. [More]

of the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel (2001)
A Windsor Public Library project on the history of the
Detroit-Windsor Tunnel. It was funded by the Virtual
Museum of Canada and began as an exhibit at the Windsor Public Library--Windsor's Community

The Bruce Macdonald
collection has now been digitized, making it
more readily available to the general public and researchers. The Windsor Public Library--Windsor's Community Archives works
with the University of Windsor, Leddy Library, to chronicle the life of this local Canadian hero. [More]
The Bartlet Diaries
(2001)
We
hope to satisfy the curiosity of historians and many Canadians
surrounding the diaries of Alexander Bartlet by putting the first of
many diaries on the Internet. Our
goal is to also include a full searchable translation. [More]

Windsor History Index (2001)
The
history of Windsor is now available in over 170 scrapbooks through
the Windsor History Index. This
project is ongoing and will eventually result in a digital index of each
