Hope Was Here <\/strong><\/em>By Joan Bauer<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Life has never been easy for Hope, even as a baby. Weighing two pounds at birth, getting abandoned by her mother, having a angry childhood, and constantly moving homes is what Hope has gone through so far. But every time, she takes on the challenge, just like her aunt Addie does. These two ladies both share an inner strength that helps them move past all their misfortunes. They know life has its ups and downs, so they keep their hopes up when they move to Mulhoney, Wisconsin. New lives for Hope and her aunt start here, such as participating in political affairs, falling in love, and working harder than ever at their new restaurant. Hope\u2019s ideal father finally appears in her life when G.T. marries Aunt Addie, but leukemia takes him away too soon. However, Hope remains strong and starts a new journey as she heads to college.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Just like in Hope\u2019s life, we all have our ups and downs, so we can get some emotional encouragement from Hope Was Here <\/em>no matter whether you\u2019re on cloud nine, or in the depths of despair. The author uses \u201cteen speak\u201d in this book, and she is very good at language usage. I would recommend it to teenagers because we are familiar with that type of writing.<\/p>\n
