As soon as I picked it up in a dusty corner of my classroom, I could not put it back down. Meg Murry is an outcast at her school, and she always feels that no one understands her. One day on a stormy night, a celestial creature named Mrs. Whatsit arrived to their house. Later on, Meg meets Mrs. Who and Mrs. Which, and they both transport them to Camazotz, the planet Meg’s father where was taken captive. Meg, with her brother Charles Wallace and her friend Calvin, begins an eye-opening adventure on another planet that changes Meg’s life forever. On Camazotz, every object and person is under the same rhythmic pulse under the evil reign of the IT, the brain. Charles Wallace attempts to fight the IT, but fails – and becomes possessed. It is up to Meg alone to save her brother and her father and discover the secret weapon that can defeat the IT.

This book was absolutely magnificent. Every detail, from the moment that I was introduced to Meg to the end, ensnared me. As soon as I met the awkward, lonely Meg, I immediately sympathized with her. As she goes on the trip, I saw her shy character mold into a different personality – loyal and courageous. I loved the part when Meg attempts to save her brother Charles Wallace from the IT, which truly showed her love to her brother. If you are looking for something to do on a rainy day, pick up this book and get whirled into the world of fantasy!

Happy Holidays!
