Children

(Ages 0-12)

For our customers 12 year of age and under, a signature is required by a parent to verify information and confirm parental consent. To have a library card issued to a child, both the parent and child must be present when the card is issued, and appropriate identification must be presented for both the parent and the child. More than one piece of ID may be required to verify your identity and residence.

Acceptable forms of ID include but are not limited to:

  • Passport
  • Current Ontario driver's licence
  • Ontario health card
  • Utilities bill
  • Personalized cheque book
  • Pay stub
  • Government cheque
  • Personal mail delivered to your address by Canada Post

It is important that children develop good library behaviour at an early age. This includes care of books, the responsibility to return items, and most importantly, good reading habits. We offer a variety of fun and educational reading programs for kids of all ages. We encourage you and your child to visit your closest Windsor Public Library branch and experience everything we have to offer!

Every branch has special programs for children of all ages. For schedules and locations, contact your neighbourhood library.
