The JOHN MUIR branch will be the newest in the Windsor Public Library system when it opens in April 2018. In the cold depths beneath the waves, parts of our country’s past lie waiting to be rediscovered. For those whose passion lies in scuba diving or tales of Ontario’s earlier times, you will not want to miss a presentation by marine historians Cris Kohl and Joan Forsberg, sharing their latest discoveries of Lake Erie shipwrecks. Beloved Canadian author Jane Urquhart was honoured with the task of putting together a lyrical non-fiction collection of short stories to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday in 2017, told through fifty objects. Each object is rich in Canadian history. Whether it be about our iconic explorers and leaders, or personal anecdotes from her family’s past, Jane beautifully intertwines the tales of each object to speak to us as a nation.
