Wonderful titles like <a href=\"http:\/\/windsor.bibliocommons.com\/item\/show\/195017_the_snowy_day\" target=\"_blank\">The Snowy Day<\/a> by Ezra Jack Keats, <a href=\"http:\/\/windsor.bibliocommons.com\/item\/show\/228022017_the_mitten\" target=\"_blank\">The Mitten<\/a> by Jan Brett and <a href=\"http:\/\/windsor.bibliocommons.com\/item\/show\/8198017_the_snowman\" target=\"_blank\">The Snowman<\/a> by Raymond Briggs\u00a0have found welcome spots in storytime lineups and on children&#8217;s bookshelves for many years. However, today we wanted to focus on some newer titles. This\u00a0spirited take on the familiar &#8220;clap your hands&#8221;\u00a0tune is filled with inventive rhymes,\u00a0humour-packed illustrations and a lively, alliterative text that rolls easily off the tongue. This is one to be sung all season long!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/windsor.bibliocommons.com\/item\/show\/649641017_red_sled\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Red Sled<\/em><\/a> by Lita Judge (2011). There aren&#8217;t\u00a0many words in this\u00a0book, but it packs a lot of joy\u00a0into its pages! It follows the sledding adventures of an unlikely cast of animals using\u00a0dynamic illustrations and simple sound effects.\u00a0Few books capture the delight of winter as perfectly as this one.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/windsor.bibliocommons.com\/item\/show\/617200017_waiting_for_winter\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Waiting for Winter<\/em> <\/a>by Sebastian Meschenmoser (2009). Curious as to what snow actually looks like, Squirrel and some of his friends decide to stay up all winter instead of hibernating&#8230;with hilarious results. Fantastic coloured pencil sketch-pad illustrations, an adorable cast of characters and a silly story will have pre-schoolers giggling at this one.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/windsor.bibliocommons.com\/item\/show\/636164017_sneezy_the_snowman\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Sneezy Snowman <\/em><\/a>by Maureen Wright (2010).
